TORONTO, October 26th, 2011 – Score Media Inc. (TSX: SCR), today announces the launch of THE PROJECT – where Laurence Payne and Ethan Cole, two sports fans and “general nobodies” track down their sports heroes. They don’t do handshakes and sit down interviews – they’ve created a sports bucket list and they’re crossing off their insane ideas one by one.
“THE PROJECT is the epitome of sports hero fanaticism at its best,” says Colin McRae, Director, Creative Content and Brand Integration, theScore. “It takes an inside look at everything you ever wanted to know about your favourite retired athletes through the wacky journey of two die-hard, persistent fans.”
Why ask Otis Nixon about the 1992 World Series bunt when you could reenact it with him? Why talk to Buster Douglas about boxing when you could just pay him to fight you? Confused about what direction to take your life in? Go and ask the Ultimate Warrior, the all knowing wrestler and life philosopher what to do. That’s what Laurence and Ethan did. They make the impossible possible and try to avoid killing each other while doing it. Raw, gritty, and nothing but real, THE PROJECT blurs the line between fan and athlete and puts lost legends in situations you’ve never seen before.
Tune in November 8th at 11pm ET for the outrageous premiere of THE PROJECT. To get a glimpse of some of Ethan and Laurence’s adventures click here: www.thisistheproject.com.
